Stanford Psychiatry Immersive Technology Consortium

The Stanford Psychiatry Immersive Technology Consortium (SPIT-C) is a community facing network that includes a monthly virtual meeting of XR and Psychiatry stakeholders including but not limited to: researchers, developers, and providers.  The group is for anyone enthusiastic about the use of extended reality technology for mental and behavioral healthcare.

In conjunction with SPIT-C, Psychiatry XR is affiliated with Stanford’s Immersive Technology and Virtual Reality Program (VR-IT) in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. VR-IT is a clinically focused academic endeavor dedicated to evaluating and innovating extended reality (XR) solutions for behavioral and mental health.

  • Kim Bullock, M.D. is a clinical investigator, psychiatrist, neuropsychiatrist, and psychotherapist at Stanford University. She founded Psychiatry XR, VR-IT, and developed the Stanford Psychiatry Immersive Technology Consortium (SPIT-C) to connect community stakeholders.

  • SPIT-C has a newsletter and virtual meetings which occur monthly. If you’d like to join, just click the Join SPIT-C button to your left. Once you enter your email, you’ll be added to the newsletters and the notifications and details of upcoming meetings.

  • Attendees at monthly meetings support each other’s endeavors, network, hear and try out novel medical XR experiences. If you’d like to present your work or demo any content at one of SPIT-C’s monthly meetings, contact Kim Bullock at kbullock@stanford.edu. We would love to have you!
